Electric Pickle Breaks Ground at The Resort in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.  Lewis Retail Centers today announced that Electric Pickle, the restaurant, bar, and social house concept known for pairing chef-driven cuisine with pickleball, has broken ground at The Resort. Construction is officially underway on the new location, which is expected to open in Summer 2027.

Electric Pickle is situated on the corner of Fourth Street and The Resort Parkway in Rancho Cucamonga, within one of the Inland Empire’s most active retail and entertainment corridors. The property sits directly across from Toyota Arena and the Element by Marriott Ontario.

A New Dining and Social Destination for the Region

Electric Pickle will anchor The Resort with an 8,500-square-foot restaurant and a sprawling outdoor footprint built around 10 pickleball courts, a lawn, and multiple bar and lounge areas. The menu will center on globally inspired comfort cuisine, paired with a full bar, in a space designed for everything from casual dinners to large group celebrations.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Electric Pickle’s unique restaurant and social-house experience to Rancho Cucamonga. First and foremost, it will be an exceptional dining and gathering place, with great food and drinks at the center of everything we do. Guests will also enjoy a variety of social activities including pickleball, designed to bring people together. Whether you’re visiting with family, watching a game, celebrating with a large group, or simply meeting friends for dinner and drinks, Electric Pickle will offer something special for everyone.”

Paul Frederick, Co-Founder, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Electric Pickle.

A Concept Built for Where Dining Is Headed

Electric Pickle bills itself as a restaurant first, the paddles are optional, the menu is not. Consumers today aren’t choosing between “going out to eat” and “going out to do something.” They want both in one stop, and Electric Pickle delivers exactly that hybrid; a full bar and globally inspired menu wrapped around a court-side social scene, live music, and event programming.

A First-to-Market Concept for the Inland Empire

This isn’t just a new tenant, it’s a new concept for the region. Electric Pickle debuted its first location in Tempe, Arizona, and according to the brand’s official locations page, Rancho Cucamonga is currently the only announced California location, alongside a second upcoming location in Reno, Nevada. That makes The Resort the entry point for a concept the Inland Empire, and the state, hasn’t seen before, giving Lewis Retail Centers a genuine first-mover advantage in bringing a category-defining eatertainment brand to California.

“This is exactly the kind of innovative, experience-driven project that elevates a community. We’re proud to be breaking ground alongside Electric Pickle and excited about what this partnership will bring to Rancho Cucamonga.”

Ken Caron, Senior Vice President, Lewis Retail Centers.

Why This Fits The Resort

Electric Pickle isn’t landing in a standalone shopping center, it’s landing inside The Resort, a master-planned urban village by Lewis Planned Communities transforming southeast Rancho Cucamonga. The Resort was built around the idea that home, recreation, and everyday life should exist within walking distance of one another, with residential neighborhoods, apartment homes, walkways, bike lanes, and green space all designed to reduce reliance on a car. It’s a community built for people who want to walk to dinner, not drive to it.

That makes Electric Pickle a near-perfect fit for the neighborhood it’s joining. A restaurant and social house with courts, a lawn, and live events plugs directly into the lifestyle The Resort has been building toward: residents stepping outside their front door into a place designed for connection, recreation, and staying local.

A Signal for the Trade Area

Landing a tenant like Electric Pickle is a statement about where the area is headed. Experiential, food-and-entertainment concepts are increasingly becoming key foot traffic drivers. The new location also signals confidence in Rancho Cucamonga’s continued growth as a regional destination, reinforcing why this corridor remains one of the most competitive retail submarkets in the Inland Empire.

What’s Next

With space still available at The Resort, this groundbreaking adds real momentum to the project. As the center rises around a strong food-and-entertainment anchor, expect interest from complementary retail and service uses looking to ride the same foot traffic ahead of the projected summer 2027 opening.
